1. Travel documents for domestic flights (Viet Nam):
1.1. Foreign-national passengers may present one of the following documents or electronic data having equivalent legal validity:
a. A passport (bearing the most recent immigration entry stamp) or an internationally recognized travel document (bearing the most recent immigration entry stamp), together with documents relating to lawful residence in Viet Nam (visa, visa exemption certificate, permanent residence card, temporary residence card, APEC Business Travel Card), except in cases of visa exemption;
b. A diplomatic identity card issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, or representative offices of international organizations;
c. A long-term airport security control card; an identification card issued by Vietnamese airlines;
d. A Level-2 electronic identification account;
e. In the event that a passenger has lost their passport, a diplomatic note issued by the diplomatic or consular mission of the passenger’s country of nationality, or an official letter issued by the local Department of Foreign Affairs or local police authority where the loss occurred, certifying the passenger’s identity and the loss of passport, with photograph affixed and stamped across the photo. Such diplomatic note or certification letter shall be valid for 30 days from the date of certification.
1.2. Vietnamese-national passengers may present one of the following documents or electronic data having equivalent legal validity:
a. A Level-2 electronic identification account;
b. Personal information of a child under 14 years of age contained in the Level-2 electronic identification account of the father, mother, legal guardian, or accompanying passenger (passengers who have registered biometric data for aviation check-in procedures may use the automated security control gates and automated boarding gates);
c. A passport or laissez-passer; Citizen Identity Card or Identity Card;
d. A birth certificate, civil status extract, birth registration extract (birth information extract), or written confirmation of civil status information (applicable to children under 14 years of age);
e. A certificate of live birth (applicable to infants under 02 months of age who have not yet been issued a birth certificate);
f. An identification or certification issued by the People’s Public Security Forces or the People’s Army;
g. A National Assembly Deputy Card;
h. A Communist Party membership card;
i. A Press Card;
j. A long-term airport security control card;
k. An identification card issued by Vietnamese airlines;
l. A certificate of identity confirmed by the police authority (such certificate must specify: the confirming authority and officer; date of certification; full name, date of birth, gender, and permanent residence address of the certified person; and the reason for certification. The certificate must bear a photograph affixed with an overlapping stamp and shall be valid for 30 days from the date of certification);
m. A certification issued by a competent authority confirming that the passenger has recently completed serving a criminal sentence;
n. A certification issued by a social organization for children under its care (valid for 06 months from the date of certification);
o. Passengers who are inmates, defendants, or persons being escorted, extradited, or deported are only required to present documentation issued by a competent authority evidencing the escort arrangement when completing flight procedures; escorting officers must present documents in accordance with applicable regulations.
1.3. Travel documents used by passengers must satisfy the following conditions:
a. They must be original documents and remain valid; or electronic versions having legal validity in accordance with applicable regulations;
b. In respect of birth certificates, civil status extracts, birth registration extracts (birth information extracts), written confirmations of civil status information, and certificates of live birth, such documents must be original copies or certified true copies in accordance with the law; or electronic versions having legal validity in accordance with applicable regulations;
c. Documents or appendices shall not be accepted if they do not contain a photograph or if the photograph does not comply with legal requirements, except for birth certificates, certificates of live birth, civil status extracts, birth registration extracts, written confirmations of civil status information, documents issued by competent authorities evidencing escort arrangements, identity cards issued to children under 06 years of age, certifications issued by competent authorities confirming that the passenger has recently completed serving a criminal sentence, and certifications issued by social organizations for children under their care;
d. In the case of a Level-2 electronic identification account or an electronic birth certificate, the account must be active and fully functional at the time of presentation.
2. For international flights:
2.1. Passengers traveling on international flights must present a passport, laissez-passer, or other documents valid for entry and exit in accordance with the regulations of the destination country. As a general rule, the passenger’s passport must be valid for at least six (06) months from the date of entry into the respective country.
2.2. In order to be permitted entry into another country, passengers may be required to obtain a visa prior to departure. However, each country maintains its own visa exemption policies. Prior to travel, passengers must ensure that they have reviewed the latest information regarding visa requirements and other entry requirements applicable to their destination country. 2.3. Children under 14 years of age must travel with their parent(s), legal guardian, or lawful representative. In cases where the accompanying person is not the parent or legal guardian, such person must present a legally authorized letter of consent issued by the parent or legal guardian (in accordance with Law on Exit and Entry No. 49/2019/QH14, as amended and supplemented by Laws No. 47/2019/QH14 and No. 51/2019/QH14).
2.4. Vietjet operates on a point-to-point basis. Passengers with connecting itineraries are required to possess all valid travel documents necessary for entry at each transit or connection point within their itinerary. Passengers are also required to collect their checked baggage (if any) and complete check-in procedures for their onward flight segment.
