How to Check-in

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES:

Vietjet has implemented a digital system to enhance the customer experience for flight check-in, allowing for easy actions like updating flight times, completing self-check-in, and minimizing wait times at airport counters.

Before arriving at the airport:

  • Prepare necessary documents and check flight schedules (on Vietjet’s website under "My Booking").
  • Plan travel time to arrive at the airport per regulations, ensuring you reach the check-in area at least 90 minutes before departure.
  • Organize carry-on and checked baggage according to ticket conditions.

Tips at the airport:

  • Without checked baggage: ensure carry-on baggage meets Vietjet’s size, weight, and quantity requirements (based on ticket class), then proceed directly to the security screening area.
  • If your carry-on includes restricted items or exceeds allowable limits, check it in at the airport counter.
  • With checked baggage: bring both checked and carry-on baggage to the check-in counter. Note that domestic flight counters close 40 minutes before departure, and international flights close 50 minutes prior (some airports close 60 minutes prior depending on their facilities).

A. ONLINE CHECK-IN (via Vietjet website or mobile app)

Step 1: Go to "Online Check-in" on the Vietjet website (Here) or the “Check-in” section on the Vietjet Air mobile app.

Step 2: Enter your booking code and surname (exactly as on the ticket) to retrieve information.

Step 3: Select the flight and passenger for check-in.

Step 4: Choose a seat from the seat map.

  • Green seats are available
  • Yellow seats are currently selected
  • Gray seats with a cross are either occupied or unavailable, and red seats are premium.

Step 5: Complete online check-in

  • Confirm rules regarding prohibited items, ticket conditions, and transportation regulations.
  • Receive your boarding pass via email or download it to your phone.

At the airport: If you do not have checked baggage, prepare your carry-on baggage to meet ticket conditions and go directly to the security screening area.

General rules for international flights:

  • Prepare valid travel documents that comply with entry, exit, and residency regulations.
  • Departing from Ho Chi Minh City: passengers are required to complete online check-in and print the boarding pass on A4 paper before heading to the airport. Electronic boarding passes stored on devices (phones, tablets, emails, etc.) are not accepted for international flights.
  • At the airport: arrive at the Online Check-in counter at least 60 minutes before departure for document verification, including travel documents, entry/exit permits, and any other required documents by the authorities, even without checked baggage.
  • Baggage check-in (if applicable): Baggage counters close 60 minutes before departure.

Note:

Online check-in does not apply in the following cases:

  • Passengers with limited mobility or requiring special assistance.
  • Passengers traveling with an infant (<2 years old) or pregnant women.
  • More than 10 passengers on the same booking.
  • Passengers with checked baggage.

B. CHECK-IN AT AIRPORT KIOSKS

Applicable to flights departing from airports equipped with kiosks in Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Before arriving at the airport:

  • Prepare necessary documents and check flight schedules (on Vietjet’s website under "My Booking").
  • Plan travel time to arrive at the airport as required, reaching the check-in area at least 90 minutes before departure.
  • Organize carry-on and checked baggage according to ticket conditions.

At the airport:

  • Locate Vietjet’s check-in counter on the airport information screen.
  • Proceed to the self-check-in kiosk. The kiosk’s location may vary based on terminal layout.
  • Select the Vietjet.com logo on the kiosk near the check-in area to start check-in.

Step 1: Enter your booking code or scan your passport (personal information page).

Passport scanning is only for international flights.

Step 2:

  • Select the flight and seat.
  • Review and confirm rules on prohibited and dangerous items.
  • Print the boarding pass.

Step 3: Confirm information on the boarding pass, including details on your passport, flight number, and departure gate.

If you have checked baggage, bring both checked and carry-on baggage to the check-in counter. Note that counters close 40 minutes before domestic flights and 50 minutes before international flights (some airports close 60 minutes before departure, depending on facilities).

Step 4: Proceed to security screening, immigration (for international flights), and wait at the departure gate.

Step 5: Board according to the group number listed on your boarding pass.

Gate/time may change; check the airport’s flight information screens.

  • Passengers with limited mobility or requiring special assistance.
  • Bookings with more than 9 passengers.

C. CHECK-IN AT AIRPORT COUNTERS

Check-in starts from 2 hours to 40 minutes before departure (for domestic flights) and 50 minutes before departure for international flights (some airports may close 60 minutes prior).

We encourage passengers to use the free Online Check-in and Kiosk Check-in options instead of waiting at airport check-in counters.

Before arriving at the airport:

  • Prepare necessary documents and check flight schedules (on Vietjet’s website under "My Booking").
  • Plan travel time to reach the airport as required, arriving at the check-in area at least 90 minutes before departure.
  • Organize carry-on and checked baggage according to ticket conditions.

At the airport:

Step 1: Queue in the designated area according to ticket class and service type. While waiting, prepare identification and booking code.

Step 2: Provide your booking code, identification, and weigh both carry-on and checked baggage (if any) to ensure compliance with ticket conditions, security, and safety regulations.

Note: Avoid placing valuables (cash, jewelry, electronics, or important documents) in checked baggage. Portable batteries and other items should be checked directly at the counter.

For any extra fees related to baggage, seat selection, or other services, please cooperate with counter staff.

Step 3: Retrieve identification, boarding pass, and checked baggage tag (if applicable).

Verify that details on the boarding pass match your identification/passport, flight number, and departure gate time.

Step 4: Leave the check-in counter and proceed to security screening, immigration (for international flights), and wait at the departure gate.
