Currently, Vietnamese citizens need to apply for a visa to travel to Japan, except for some special cases. Therefore, when planning to visit the Land of the Rising Sun, you should prepare a complete application for a quick tourist visa approval.

Applying for a Japan tourist visa on your own can be somewhat complex for first-timers. Therefore, if traveling in a group, consider using a service company or joining a tour for a more seamless experience.

3. Conditions for Applying for a Japan Tourist Visa

In principle, your tourist visa for Japan will be granted if you meet the following general criteria:

  • - Applicants must have a valid passport and ensure the right to re-enter their country of citizenship or residence.

  • - All documents in the application must be accurately verified.

  • - The applicant’s activities and residence during the visa period must comply with the immigration laws.

  • - Applicants must not fall under the categories listed in section 1 of the immigration law.

  • If the photo is edited, the application will not be accepted.

  • Do not staple because the back of the document needs to be processed through the machine.

Documents proving the relationship between people applying for a Japanese visa together (in case of group application), including:

  • Relatives: Provide birth certificates, marriage certificates,...

  • Friendship: Provide pictures taken together (clear faces, no hats, no glasses,...)

  • Other documents can prove people's relationship.

   Note:

  • If a group of more than 3 people needs to apply for a visa, you need to add a paper explaining the relationship according to the diagram.

  • Make everyone's relationship in the group clear before submitting your application.

  • Account statement of salaries received for the most recent 6 months.

  • If applying as a group, mark the sequence number (1, 2, 3,...) on each application form and other documents.

  • Prove the relationship among group members.
