Noi Bai Airport was established by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam on February 28, 1977. On January 2, 1978, the airport officially commenced operations and welcomed its first international flight.
After 6 years of construction, Terminal T1 was inaugurated on September 15, 2005. 9 years later, on December 25, 2014, the VIP terminal and Terminal T2 were inaugurated, serving international flights, while T1 became the domestic terminal.
