3. Formation and Development of Fukuoka International Airport

Built in 1944 by the Japanese military under the name Mushiroda Airport, it was renamed Itazuke Airport under U.S. management in 1945. In December 1970, the airport was officially returned to Japan. In April 1972, it was renamed Fukuoka Airport, a name it retains to this day. Originally with only one terminal, due to increasing passenger numbers, a second terminal was completed in 1974, the third in 1981, and the International Passenger Terminal in 1999, catering to the growing demand for international flights to Japan.

  • Fukuoka Airport - Tenjin Station: 310 JPY/one way (52,000 VND), travel time 3 minutes.

Taxis are both fast and comfortable, especially if you're traveling with a group. You can catch a taxi at the domestic terminal and the 1F area of the international terminal.
