National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attends Vietjet’s launching ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City – Jakarta route

(Jakarta, August 5, 2023) – Vietjet today commenced the direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta in the presence of the Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Arsjad Rasjid, and representative leaders and enterprises of the two countries. The launching event took place in Jakarta within the framework of the Legal and Policy Forum promoting cooperation on Economy, Trade and Investment between Vietnam and Indonesia.

The commencement makes Ho Chi Minh City - Jakarta the third direct service in Vietjet's flight network between Vietnam and Indonesia. With seven flights per week via just three-hour flights on modern aircraft, Vietjet’s flights provides ideal travel option to discover Jakarta, totaling the flights between Vietnam and Indonesia to 84 flights per week starting this August 12.

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated Vietjet and highly appreciated the new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta, as it contributes to promoting Vietnam – Indonesia’s trade and investment. With a population of 280 million, Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous nation, and the bustling metropolitan area of Jakarta with over 10 million residents, Indonesia holds immense potential for economic cooperation.

Mr. Putu Eka Cahyadi, Director of Air Transportation at DGCA Indonesia, remarked at the launching ceremony: "Vietjet's new direct route will have a significant and positive impact on the aviation industry and travel between Indonesia and Vietnam.
