Airbus delivers to Vietjet a new aircraft bearing the symbol commemorating 50 years of Vietnam – France diplomatic relations

(Vietjet, Paris, October 8, 2024) – The new A321neo aircraft bearing the image symbolizing the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – France diplomatic relations has just been celebrated by Airbus and Vietjet at Orly Airport (Paris) under the witnesses and congratulation by Vietnam General Secretary and President To Lam and senior leaders of Vietnam and France.

The symbol commemorating 50 years of Vietnam – France diplomatic relations was announced by two countries’ leaders on the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership between Vietnam and France. It has demonstrated the close relationship, sharing of history, culture and close bilateral ties.

Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao shared: “Vietjet aircraft bearing the symbol image of 50 years of Vietnam – France diplomatic relations marks a milestone in the development of economic, cultural and trade cooperation between the two countries, spreading the good values in the relationship of two countries’ people and international friends. We are pleased that the cooperation between Vietjet and French partners has had good results and become a solid basis for the Vietnam – France strategic partnership. Today's event is even more meaningful as it marks the success of the 19th Francophonie Summit with the participation of leaders of nearly 100 member countries.”

In 2018, Vietjet also received an A321 aircraft bearing the symbol of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France under the witness of the late Vietnam General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during the official working visit in France by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

The newly delivered A321neo aircraft today is the 80th of the type manufactured and delivered one as a part of Vietjet's order of more than 206 aircraft with the world's leading manufacturer Airbus. The new, modern Airbus aircraft have created more jobs for France, together with Vietjet offering flying opportunities to hundreds of millions of people and tourists, promoting aviation development, trade and cultural exchange in the region as well as the world. During the time of the pandemic, Vietjet's fleet has donated millions of medical masks to the people of France, Germany, the UK, etc., transporting medical equipment, goods and food to contribute to quickly controlling the pandemic.

Vietjet's cooperation with French partners and Airbus has continously contributed to the dynamic trade between Vietnam and France in particular and the European Union in general. More specifically, Vietjet's projects in cooperation with Airbus have contributed to the formation of a training center and aviation technical services in Vietnam, providing large-scale aircraft technical services, ready for the production of aviation components and supporting technology in Vietnam.

Vietjet's A321neo aircraft has a modern, airy design, soft leather seats, high-quality carpet and the latest generation of engines, which being capable of reducing fuel consumption by 20%, noise by 50% compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. It will join its fleet of more than 100 of the world's most modern aircraft, being operated on routes covering Vietnam and internationally to destinations in India, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, ... meeting the travel demands of people and tourists.

Following the delivery of the new aircraft, Airbus will continue to deliver more new aircraft from now until the end of 2024 to Vietjet, which demonstrating the airline’s commitment to meeting all passenger demands, expanding the flight network, developing sustainably, and promoting cultural, economic, and tourism exchanges between countries and peoples around the world.
