Vietjet inaugurates Hanoi - Siem Reap route on the occasion of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's visit to Vietnam

(Hanoi, December 12, 2023) - Vietjet today held the inaugural ceremony of the direct route connecting Hanoi, Vietnam capital city with the heritage city Siem Reap of Cambodia.

The ceremony took place at the Vietnam - Cambodia Investment and Trade Promotion Forum, under the witnesses of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, as well as leaders of ministries, departments, and businesses of both countries in Hanoi.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expected to have more international flights in the near future, congratulated and highly appreciated Vietjet's inaugural route Hanoi - Siem Reap connecting Cambodia with Vietnam today. The Prime Minister hoped that Vietjet would open more flights connecting Vietnam and Cambodia.

Vietjet will operate the Hanoi - Siem Reap route to serve passengers from December 15, 2023, with 7 round-trip flights per week, the flight time of each leg is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Passengers will have convenient flying experiences with Vietjet's modern fleet, enjoy Vietnamese rich cuisine including Banh mi, Pho Thin and the world’s cuisine served by the dedicated and friendly flight crews.

Vietjet's new flights will be operated at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport, the largest airport in Cambodia, located approximately 50km from the center of Siem Reap city and about 40km from the Angkor archaeological site.

Hanoi, the heart of Vietnam, is a thousand-year-old capital with famous cultural and historical destinations such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi 36 streets with world-famous street foods.

Meanwhile, Siem Reap is a world-famous destination with the Angkor archaeological site recognized by UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Siem Reap preserves almost intact temple structures and famous wonders of the world, where tourists can experience various tourism activities, Khmer traditional arts and cuisine.

The Hanoi - Siem Reap route will contribute to facilitating and promoting investment cooperation, tourism, cultural exchange, and education between two neighboring countries, enhancing the close bond between Vietnam and Cambodia, and further expanding Vietjet's flight network covering Vietnam, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), South Korea, India, Kazakhstan, and beyond.
