Vietjet launches Hanoi - Shizuoka route, making it easy to fly directly to the homeland of Mount Fuji

(Vietjet, Shizuoka, April 29, 2026) - Shizuoka Airport in Japan was bustling with activity as Vietjet welcomed the first flight between Shizuoka and Hanoi, the first direct route connecting two prominent destinations in Vietnam and Japan. Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture – Mr. Suzuki Yasutomo, Ambassador of Vietnam to Japan – Mr. Pham Quang Hieu, and leaders of Shizuoka Airport, along with Vietjet representatives, congratulated the new route and welcomed the first passengers on their journey with Vietjet.

Celebrate the inauguration of the new route, Vietjet offers attractive promotions for passengers on flights from and to Japan. From 00:00 to 23:00 on May 5th to May 7th, 2026, passengers booking tickets on the website www.vietjetair.com or the Vietjet Air mobile app will receive a 30% discount on 10 million Deluxe tickets, applicable for journeys departing from May 5th to August 31st, 2026 (GMT+7) (*).

The new route further confirms Vietjet's strong growth in the Japanese market, with three return- flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The flights from Hanoi depart at 02:40 and land in Shizuoka at 09:30 (local time). In the return flight, the flights depart Shizuoka at 10:30 and arrive in Hanoi at 14:00 on the same day.
