Vietjet increases nearly 1,800 flights to serve the peak Tet holiday season of 2026

(Vietjet, Ho Chi Minh City, January 15, 2026) – In anticipation of a surge in travel demand during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, Vietjet is offering an additional 390,000 seats, equivalent to nearly 1,800 extra flights, for the peak period from February 2 to March 3, 2026 (corresponding to 15/12 to 15/1 on the lunar calendar). This increase aims to meet the strong demand for returning home for the Tet holiday, visiting relatives, and traveling across Vietnam and internationally.

The additional flights will focus on high-demand routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Chu Lai, Hai Phong, Hue, Quy Nhon, and Dong Hoi before Tet, and vice versa after Tet. This enhancement helps ease congestion and promptly meet travel demand during the busiest period of the year. The increase in flight frequencies not only provides passengers with more flexible options in terms of schedules and itineraries, but also demonstrates Vietjet’s proactive commitment to accompanying travelers on their journeys of reunion, family gatherings, and early spring travel.

Passengers planning to travel during the peak Lunar New Year period are encouraged to book their tickets early to secure suitable flight schedules and to complete online check-in within 24 hours prior to departure via www.vietjetair.com, the Vietjet app, or VNeID, in order to complete procedures quickly and reduce waiting times at airport check-in areas.

Alongside the deployment of additional flights for the peak season, Vietjet continues to expand its fleet, further develop its domestic and international route network, and offer a wide range of fare classes and high-quality services. The airline is also strengthening its staffing at airports, contributing to safe, convenient, and enjoyable journeys for passengers during the Lunar New Year 2026.
